Nine Month Checkup

The girls had their nine month checkup this morning. They both checked out great. They are in about the 50th percentile for size, but they are following a consistent growth curve. No shots today - yeah! They did have to get a finger poke though so blood could be drawn for a hemoglobin test. Violet did pretty well, she cried for a minute but then fell asleep in her Daddy's arms. On the other hand, Olivia screamed her head off for about ten minutes. She has been quite a treat lately!! She has a third tooth coming in on the top, which we think has been bothering her for about the last week or so. Hopefully she gets over it soon.

Violet's Stats:
Weight: 18 pounds, 14 ounces
Length: 28 inches
Head Circumference: 17 1/2 inches

Olivia's Stats:
Weight: 18 pounds, 2.5 ounces
Length: 27 3/4 inches
Head Circumference: 17 1/2 inches

Thronson Farm Weekend

We spent this past weekend out at my parent's farm. We had a really great time. The girls loved being out at the farm! All three of my sisters, my brother-in-laws, and my nieces and nephews were all out at the farm on Saturday. It was so much fun to spend the whole day together. We aren't able to get the whole family together very often, so it was a special day. Early Saturday morning, my sister Terri and I brought our niece Emma down to the barn. My Dad will be selling the cows and retiring from milking in about six weeks, so we wanted to have one more chance to see Dad in action. We took pictures of Dad milking, of the barn and barnyard, and surrounding buildings. It will be different next time we visit because the cows will probably be gone. I wish Olivia & Violet would have memories of the cows, but unfortunately they will not be old enough to remember. My Dad is still planning on keeping up with crop farming in the summer, but this winter will be quite different for him without the responsibility of milking. Here are some pictures we took:

On Saturday, we had a 4-hour Thronson family photo shoot. We had a freelance photographer come out to the farm and take a variety of pictures of us. It went pretty well considering we were dealing with six kids, ten adults, and all of our different schedules. Olivia was the crabbiest one, she was fed up with pictures almost as soon as we started! I will post some of the pictures when we get them back in about a month.

We had a bonfire Saturday night. It ended up being a cool evening, so the fire sure felt nice.

On Sunday morning, Jamie & I walked down to the lake behind my parent's house with Terri, Aaron, and their golden retriever Brinkley. We used to walk down to the lake many times in the summer when we were kids, so it brought back many fond memories. Here are some photos from our walk:
