Weekend Photos

Here are a couple of photos from the weekend.

Friday night, Olivia was so tired that she fell asleep while playing in her Exersaucer out in the porch. It was so cute.

I took this photo of Violet & Olivia on Saturday morning. We were playing together on the floor.

Jamie put together the wagon that Olivia & Violet received for Christmas from Grandma & Grandpa Suchy. We took them for a walk in it, and they loved riding in it. Olivia especially loved it, she was smiling the whole time.

Crawling Trouble

The girls crawled into this predicament the other day.

Personalities

The girls are definitely developing their own personalities. They are both very good babies, but they have different ways of showing it.
Violet is pretty laid back, and she will pretty much find a way to be happy with whatever situation she is in. She is also more patient and will happily wait her turn to be changed or fed. She will lay on the floor and play in one spot without too much of a desire to explore.
Olivia is a little more demanding of our attention. She likes to be the center of activity and will crawl across the room if she thinks something more exciting is going on elsewhere. I think she will be our mover and shaker!

Their newest enjoyment is to play peek-a-boo. We hide in another room for a couple of seconds, then stick our head out and say "Boo!" They think it is really funny. We are very lucky to have two happy girls. They are such a blessing. The Minnesota Gopher shirts were a gift for the girls from their Daddy (he works at the U of M). He is pretty proud of this picture.

Getting Mobile

The girls are mobile. It happened on July 19th while I was gone on vacation in Florida. They each have their own version of crawling. Violet pretty much does an army belly crawl, while Olivia looks like a frog scooting her knees up and down on the floor.

Olivia has already found herself in some predicaments. She backed herself under our dining room table and got stuck under a chair. Violet has not been as adventurous yet.

As I mentioned, I was on vacation when they started to understand the concept of crawling. Jamie had his hands full. He said he couldn't leave them alone or they would be on the other side of the room when he came back.

I went to Orlando with my Mom and three sisters. We had a great time. It was a very relaxing break. It was overcast most of the time we were there, so it wasn't extremely hot which was nice. We spent a day at Universal Studios, saw "Cirque du Soliel" at Downtown Disney and "Blue Man Group" at CityWalk. Otherwise we just hung out at the pool and relaxed. It was fun, but it is always nice to come home. I sure missed the girls!

Best Place to Live

The city we live in (Plymouth) was just voted the top place to live in the country by Money magazine, for cities with populations between 50,000 and 300,000. Pretty cool. You can read the article from Star Tribune at http://www.startribune.com/local/west/25335494.html.

Boring!

We hardly ever let the girls watch TV, but last night they both were so tired that we cuddled with them on the couch while watching the Twins baseball game. Jamie was holding Olivia, and she fell asleep while sitting upright on his lap. Her head tilted to one side and she fell fast asleep. The TV usually catches her eye no matter what is on, so I guess she thought baseball was pretty boring!

July 4th Weekend

We had a really nice July 4th weekend. We drove up to my parent's farm after work on Thursday, July 3rd. We arrived in time for the girls to eat and go to bed. On Friday, July 4th, we spent the morning at my parent's farm. The girls had a lot of fun playing with Grandpa & Grandma. We went into Evansville for the parade at 1:30. The girls sat in their double stroller for the parade, but they both fell asleep because they were so tired. They really fought going to sleep, but Grandma Suchy was able to get Violet to sleep and Aunt Jill got Olivia to sleep. So they slept through most of the parade, but I was able to watch the parade with my nieces and nephews, which was fun. We watched the parade with my Mom, my sister Nikki and her kids, Jamie's parents, Jamie's sister Jill and her kids, and Jamie's sister Janell and her husband Luke. My Dad carried the flag at the beginning of the parade. We were all so proud. After the parade, we went down to the park to see what activities were going on. Plus, both sets of grandparents wanted to show off Olivia & Violet. :) We saw quite a few people in the park, including a family I used to babysit for. The youngest boy just graduated from high school, which made me feel really old! We left at about 4:00 because Jamie wanted to go fishing. We went back to my parent's farm, and Jamie went fishing with my brother-in-law's. My sister Rhonda and her daughter Emma, and my sister Nikki and her kids Maya, Alex & Evan were all out at the farm, which was really fun. The kids all played together outside. There was a pool in the yard, which my girls dipped their feet into. They seemed to like it. Grandpa gave tractor and four-wheeler rides, Emma & Alex drove the motorized car around, and we pushed the kids on the swing. It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed being outside together. We went back into Evansville about 9:00 for the fireworks. The girls were already in bed, so Grandma stayed home with them. The guys met us back in town for the fireworks.

On Saturday morning, we went to the Suchy farm. The girls stayed out at the farm with Grandma Suchy, Aunt Jill, Aunt Janell & Cousin Chelsey while Jamie & I played in the annual Suchy golf tournament. Neither of us was on the winning team, but we had fun anyway. It turned out to be another nice day, but it was a bit windy. We spent the rest of the day out at the Suchy farm with the family. We had a bonfire outside and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. We also shot off some fireworks. It was a very nice and relaxing day!

The girls enjoyed their first Fourth of July, but it will be even more fun next year when they are old enough to participate in the parade and other activities.
