Family Visit

We had a nice weekend. My Mom & Dad came for a visit on Saturday morning. We all went to a baby shower for my sister Terri, which was hosted by her husband's family that lives in the cities. It was a family shower so spouses and kids were welcome, which was nice. So we brought the girls. They behaved really well even though they only got a short nap. They had fun playing with other kids that were there, which pretty much consisted of them stealing each other's toys. The girls did much better than I expected with a room full of people they didn't know. They actually walked around quite a bit and even went up to some people on their own, which I was happy to see. We're hoping the girls are outgoing and not clingy to us around people they don't know very well. The shower was very nice! We had a great time.

We hung out at our house for a few hours, and then we went out to Applebee's for supper. The girls behaved pretty well there as well, except Violet got pretty restless at the end. Olivia ate the most food I've ever seen her eat in one sitting. She started by eating raisins as an appetizer, and when our food came we all shared with her. She was still eating even when the rest of us were done. She had hamburger, baked potato, broccoli, carrots, mozzarella sticks, shrimp, french fries and a pickle. Her belly was so solid when she was done that we were all cracking up.

When we got home, we watched some old home videos from when my sisters and I were little. It was very funny to watch! The girls decided to sleep in until 8:00 am on Sunday morning, which was awesome. Since they have changed to only one nap per day, they have been sleeping longer at night. We are so happy! We made breakfast on Sunday morning, and then my parents left around 10:30. We hung out at home the rest of the day. The girls became really really crabby around 3:00. They were very tired for some reason. Olivia ended up falling asleep in Daddy's lap around 6:15, so we put them to bed even though it was about an hour earlier than usual. Hopefully they aren't up at the crack of dawn tomorrow!!

The girls have started brushing their teeth every night. They absolutely love it. When we say it's time for night-night, they head straight to the bathroom and point to their toothbrushes. They get mad when we take the toothbrush away. The other night, I asked Olivia to give me her toothbrush because we were done brushing, and she said with attitude, "No." I can't believe I was sassed by a 15-month old!!

Here are some pictures from the baby shower.
