Personalities

The girls are definitely developing their own personalities. They are both very good babies, but they have different ways of showing it.
Violet is pretty laid back, and she will pretty much find a way to be happy with whatever situation she is in. She is also more patient and will happily wait her turn to be changed or fed. She will lay on the floor and play in one spot without too much of a desire to explore.
Olivia is a little more demanding of our attention. She likes to be the center of activity and will crawl across the room if she thinks something more exciting is going on elsewhere. I think she will be our mover and shaker!

Their newest enjoyment is to play peek-a-boo. We hide in another room for a couple of seconds, then stick our head out and say "Boo!" They think it is really funny. We are very lucky to have two happy girls. They are such a blessing. The Minnesota Gopher shirts were a gift for the girls from their Daddy (he works at the U of M). He is pretty proud of this picture.

Getting Mobile

The girls are mobile. It happened on July 19th while I was gone on vacation in Florida. They each have their own version of crawling. Violet pretty much does an army belly crawl, while Olivia looks like a frog scooting her knees up and down on the floor.

Olivia has already found herself in some predicaments. She backed herself under our dining room table and got stuck under a chair. Violet has not been as adventurous yet.

As I mentioned, I was on vacation when they started to understand the concept of crawling. Jamie had his hands full. He said he couldn't leave them alone or they would be on the other side of the room when he came back.

I went to Orlando with my Mom and three sisters. We had a great time. It was a very relaxing break. It was overcast most of the time we were there, so it wasn't extremely hot which was nice. We spent a day at Universal Studios, saw "Cirque du Soliel" at Downtown Disney and "Blue Man Group" at CityWalk. Otherwise we just hung out at the pool and relaxed. It was fun, but it is always nice to come home. I sure missed the girls!

Best Place to Live

The city we live in (Plymouth) was just voted the top place to live in the country by Money magazine, for cities with populations between 50,000 and 300,000. Pretty cool. You can read the article from Star Tribune at http://www.startribune.com/local/west/25335494.html.
