We had a really nice July 4th weekend. We drove up to my parent's farm after work on Thursday, July 3rd. We arrived in time for the girls to eat and go to bed. On Friday, July 4th, we spent the morning at my parent's farm. The girls had a lot of fun playing with Grandpa & Grandma. We went into Evansville for the parade at 1:30. The girls sat in their double stroller for the parade, but they both fell asleep because they were so tired. They really fought going to sleep, but Grandma Suchy was able to get Violet to sleep and Aunt Jill got Olivia to sleep. So they slept through most of the p

arade, but I was able to watch the parade with my nieces and nephews, which was fun. We watched the parade with my Mom, my sister Nikki and her kids, Jamie's parents, Jamie's sister Jill and her kids, and Jamie's sister Janell and her husband Luke. My Dad carried the flag at the beginning of the parade. We were all so proud. After the parade, we went down to the park to see what activities were going on. Plus, both sets of grandparents wanted to show off Olivia & Violet. :) We saw quite a few people in the park, including a family I used to babysit for. The youngest boy just graduated from high school, which made me feel really old! We left at about 4:00 because Jamie wanted to go fishing. We went back to my parent's farm, and Jamie went fishing with my brother-in-law's. My sister Rhonda and her daughter Emma, and my sister Nikki and her kids Maya, Alex & Evan were all out at the farm, which was really fun. The kids all played together outside. There was a pool in the yard, which my girls dipped their feet into. They seemed to like it. Grandpa gave tractor and four-wheeler rides, Emma & Alex drove the motorized car around, and we pushed the kids on the swing. It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed being outside together. We went back into Evansville about 9:00 for the fireworks. The girls were already in bed, so Grandma stayed home with them. The guys met us back in town for the fireworks.
On Saturday morning, we went to the Suchy farm. The girls stayed out at the farm with Grandma Suchy, Aunt Jill, Aunt Janell & Cousin Chelsey while Jamie & I played in the annual Suchy golf tournament. Neither of us was on the winning team, but we had fun anyway. It turned out to be another nice day, but it was a bit windy. We spent the rest of the day out at the Suchy farm with the family. We had a bonfire outside and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. We also shot off some fireworks. It was a very nice and relaxing day!
The girls enjoyed their first Fourth of July, but it will be even more fun next year when they are old enough to participate in the parade and other activities.
