Relaxing Weekend

We had a very relaxing weekend. On Saturday, we met Terri & Aaron for lunch at Davanni's Pizza in Edina. They were in town from Madison, Wisconsin, and hadn't seen the girls for quite some time. It was very nice to visit with them. The girls managed to eat pizza with us. They have not turned down any kind of food yet! In the afternoon, we went for a walk along the wooded trail behind our house. It was a very nice day.

Jamie went golfing on Sunday so I spent some quality time with the girls. They were good, but Olivia was in a bit of a crabby mood because she didn't take a long enough morning nap. When Jamie got home, we went outside on the swingset and then took them for a walk in their wagon. They absolutely love being outside. It is one of their favorite things to do. We gave them baths on Sunday evening. Olivia discovered how to splash. She was having a blast flapping her arms around, splashing water everywhere, and laughing about it. Baths are another one of their favorite things to do. Both of them can sit up in the bathtub on their own now, so we have packed away the baby tub. Another step out of the baby stage!

It is getting really fun to watch the girls play together. I shouldn't use the word play...because it really consists of them ripping toys out of each other's hands, poking each other in the eyes, and pulling each other's hair (not on purpose, of course). Violet's new favorite thing is to put one toy in her mouth like a puppy and then hold a different toy in each of her hands. I think she is trying to hog all of the toys so Olivia can't steal them. :)

They are eating all sorts of table food now. They've had spaghetti, pizza, hamburger, turkey sandwiches, toast, waffles, and all sorts of fresh fruits and vegetables. They are definitely losing interest in their formula and would rather have food with more substance. Only 3 more months and then we will be done with preparing and washing 8 bottles per day!
