Olivia and Violet just finished their last week at Shepherds Lambs Child Care Center. They've been going there since they were nine months old, so they were very emotional all week about leaving. Friday evening ended their week in a great way. They officially graduated with other members of their preschool class. The class sang several songs, and each child was presented with a special award. Olivia received an award for her strong passion for books. Her teacher talked about how she often liked to sit in the reading area, cuddle with the classroom's big teddy bear, and read books. Violet received an award for being a great Barbie doll wedding planner. Another area of the room features Barbie dolls that the kids can play with, and Violet spent a lot of time in that area planning pretend weddings. Both awards seemed pretty fitting!! The ceremony was ended with the kids performing the "Tootie-Ta," which is a very silly song and dance. After the ceremony, we spent some final moments in the girls' classroom, which was decorated with projects the kids did throughout the year. It was hard for the girls to leave, but I think it will be nice for them to have a change!
Tomorrow morning, we are leaving for Wisconsin Dells for some fun family time. The following Monday, they will start going to the local YMCA. Each week at the Y has a different theme, so they will go on many field trips and do many activities that fit in with each theme. Once they settle in, I think they will really enjoy it!
